Hazardous Weather Outlook. This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northeast Georgia, Piedmont North Carolina, western North Carolina, and Upstate South Carolina. Day one. Today and tonight. Numerous thunderstorms are expected to develop across the mountains this afternoon and early evening ahead of an approaching cold front. At least scattered thunderstorms should survive eastward across the piedmont through the mid to late evening hours. The primary threat with these thunderstorms will be the potential for damaging wind gusts. Large hail will be a secondary hazard with these thunderstorms, and a brief tornado cannot be ruled out. Any of these thunderstorms will also have the potential to produce frequent cloud-to-ground lightning and locally heavy rainfall. Days two through seven. Tuesday through Sunday.
