Si on analyse bien les choses, le rock vient lui aussi d’un certain virage opéré dans la musique noire américaine comme la musique soul. C’est aussi une montée du rock and roll chanté dans le genre gospel. Et tout cela a fait plein de petits qui ont fait eux-mêmes d’autres ramifications : la southern soul, la soul blues, country soul, soul jazz, afro-soul, boogaloo, psychedelic soul, neo soul, futur soul, blue-eyed soul interprétée par des musiciens blancs, la northern soul au Royaume-Uni, plastic soul… Pareil pour le funk : jazz-funk, P-Funk, disco-funk, Brit funk, Italo funk… La naissance du hip-hop et du rap vient du funk et puis l’arrivée massive de nouveaux synthétiseurs et boite à rythmes, dans ce funk parlé, donne naissance à la musique électronique. Mais alors, est-ce que ça voudrait dire que le rap et l’electro sont aussi du rock ? Voilà une réflexion qui risque d’en irriter plus d’un ! Et voici comment Talking Heads, Rod Stewart ou encore les Beatles ont-ils repris les classiques de la soul music. --- Du lundi au vendredi, Fanny Gillard et Laurent Rieppi vous dévoilent une anecdote sur le rock chaque matin dans le Morning Club à 6h30.
