Y entonces bajarán los lobos desde la loma, rondarán las cabañas y se alimentarán del ganado, reclamarán su parte de lo que no era de nadie. Mensajeros de los dioses, curiosos y solícitos primero, temerosos y vengativos después, verán como se transforma la tierra en cultivo y sus pieles sirven de corona a cazadores y guerreros. Apesadumbrados, resignados, se retirarán a las cuevas de los páramos a lamerse las heridas y solo vendrán de cuando en cuando, portadores de un mensaje de advertencia, para recordarnos que somos frágiles a pesar de nuestra fuerza. Pero mientras haya vida, todos nos veremos obligados a alimentar la tierra que nos da cobijo, porque no fue siempre nuestra y nunca lo será del todo.
