Descripción de Programa 02x09 Tras las máscaras mortuorias con Gorka López de Munain

Todas las culturas se han enfrentado al paso del hombre a la otra vida. Y todas ellas han querido atrapar el momento del tránsito hacia la muerte.
Tal vez por ello, ya en el Antiguo Egipto, encontramos que los sepulcros con forma humana tenían la función de preservar el cuerpo para la vida en el más allá. Es en este momento donde tal vez surgiera la práctica a la que nos acercamos esta noche: la creación de las máscaras mortuorias.
Será a partir del Renacimiento y sobre todo en el siglo XIX cuando los vaciados en yeso que copiaban el rostro de los fallecidos se utilicen con fines artísticos. Así, han llegado hasta nosotros las efigies de Shakespeare, Beethoven o Napoleón gracias a estas máscaras que guardaron su último suspiro.
Acompañadnos a través de este recorrido para conocer esta arcana práctica mortuoria y todos los misterios que aún aguarda de la mano del doctor Gorka López de Munain.
Seguiremos con Pedro Ortega y su sección “LA OBRA DE ARTE DESCONOCIDA”, en la que nos habla de los intrigantes retratos del Fayum, y en “CUADERNOS DE VIAJE”, David Hidalgo, nos propone una ruta para descubrir el fenómeno conocido como “tiempo perdido”, tan común en los casos de supuestas abducciones. En “TERRA SECRETA” visitamos la colección de mapas antiguos y extraños que esconde la Biblioteca Nacional de España y para terminar, en “ÚLTIMA PARADA”, escucharemos una dramatización que os dejará helados, titulado, “Catrástrofe inducida”.
