AA For Troops Podcast

AA For Troops Podcast

Alcoholics Anonymous® has thousands of members who are serving in the Armed Forces all over the World. Many are stationed in remote locations and cannot get to A.A. meetings. The stateside recordings we provide are intended to say "Thank You for Your Service" and to help isolated A.A. members maintain their sanity and sobriety. Even if you're not in the Military, you're more than welcome to listen. We hope you'll find something that will be helpful to you and perhaps a loved one, friend or colleague. The audio recordings used on these programs, have been made at A.A. meetings all over the U.S.A. The participants share their stories of what life used to be like when they were drinking, what happened in the process of recovery and what life is like now. The views of the participants are their own and do not necessarily reflect the views of Alcoholics Anonymous as a whole. The names of some speakers have been changed and/or omitted to protect their anonymity. The stories are edited to conform with the Alcoholics Anonymous tradition of anonymity and the time constraints of this program.

The Institute for Social and Economic Research (ISER) at the University of Essex is home to a world-class team of survey and research experts who specialise in the production and analysis of longitudinal data – evidence which tracks changes in the lives of the same people over time. ISER enjoys an international profile for its cutting-edge socio-economic research, which is used by academics and researchers, policy makers, other influential bodies, charitable organisations and journalists involved in ongoing debates about society. It is also one of the leading centres in the world for research into how surveys are carried out. The ISER podcast series showcases some of ISER's research in easy-to-listen-to 5-6 minute interviews, in which researchers talk about the background to their work, how they got their information, their key findings and what they mean.
